Clotrimazole is an effective drug used in the treatment of fungal
infections. The two known brand names under which it is available
are the Lotrimin and the Mycelex. Of this the brand Mycelex
categorized this drug into different types. This approval was done
under the guidance of Food and Drug Administration. It was
categorized as the antifungal and the anti-infectives.

A01AB18, ATC: D01AC01 and the ATC: G01AF02.It was on 17th April 2000

world.Clotrimazole is available in form of lotions, creams,
ointments and lozenges but not in the form of pills that can be
consumed orally. The company TARO fulfills its all responsibility of
leading the product.
Not only is this it the first company to get the approval from the
FDA for a private cream for the three day vaginal yeast infection in
the market segment. The drug Clotrimazole has the same indications
on its cover as that of the company Johnson and Johnson’s Monistat
(2)-3 cream. It is also somewhat like the Schering Plough’s Gyne
Lotrimin ® -3 cream and the bayer’s Mycelex ® - 3 cream. This fact
proves the competition Clorimazole faces. Still it is said to be one
of the most used drug and may have bright future in the years to
come.
